Ok. Maybe I over analyze TV commercials. But words and images MEAN things.
Companies pay millions each year for “inclusion” or “product placement” so that you see their products in the hands of a race car driver, or a movie star, or even a child actor in a commercial. These types of subtle promotion “sell” you on the concept of what belongs in a particular scene.
So lets take Zillows latest spot. It is here.
So what have they sanitized or scrubbed out of the family finding a perfect house? You got it…the REALTOR. My friend Brian Enright was quick to point this out to me.
Was it deliberate? Dunno. Would like to think it was not. Was it a subliminal freudian slip? Far more likely.
In response to Brian’s Facebook post I suggested that AT LEAST a REALTOR could be used as a prop. I meant that.
Third party listing syndicators try to get us to look at them as “partners”. I don’t believe them and this is part and of why I don’t. Partners don’t crop each other out of the picture. Partners go out of their way to promote each other.
I am fine with not being their partner anyway, but for those who think they are actually your PARTNER…you may want to consider that.
